What is CSNTT?
Connecting Seniors to Nature Through Technology and Teaching (CSNTT) is a four-year, province-wide initiative led by the Southeast Environmental Association (SEA) and funded through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program. At its core, CSNTT is designed to increase the social inclusion of older adults by strengthening their connection to nature, their communities, and one another.
Working alongside community partners across Prince Edward Island, the program creates meaningful opportunities for seniors to participate in environmental stewardship, outdoor recreation, digital learning, and lifelong education. Through activities such as community gardens, nature walks, wildlife monitoring, educational workshops, and intergenerational programming, CSNTT helps reduce social isolation while fostering confidence, community engagement, and a deeper connection to the Island’s natural environment.
By empowering local organizations to deliver projects tailored to their communities, CSNTT is building healthier, more connected communities where seniors can continue to learn, contribute, and experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of spending time in nature.

PEI Senior Citizens Federation
The PEI Senior Citizens’ Federation is a provincial, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults across Prince Edward Island. Representing seniors’ clubs and members throughout the province, the Federation promotes healthy aging, social inclusion, lifelong learning, and advocacy on issues that matter to seniors. Through education, community partnerships, volunteerism, and programs that encourage active living, the Federation helps ensure older Islanders remain connected, informed, and engaged in their communities.
Native Council Prince Edward Island
The Native Council of Prince Edward Island (NCPEI) is the self-governing authority and representative organization for off-reserve Indigenous peoples living on Epekwitk (PEI). Founded to advocate for the rights, interests, and needs of its members, NCPEI operates under a long-standing Tripartite Agreement with the federal and provincial governments to deliver key community programs. ncpei.com
Inclusions East
Inclusions East is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families throughout eastern Prince Edward Island. Through person-centered programs, advocacy, employment supports, recreation, and community inclusion initiatives, the organization empowers individuals to live meaningful, connected lives while fostering welcoming and inclusive communities for everyone.
Belfast Area Watershed Group (BAWG)
The Belfast Area Watershed Group (BAWG) is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health of watersheds in the Belfast region of Prince Edward Island. Through habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, environmental education, stewardship initiatives, and community engagement, BAWG works with landowners, volunteers, schools, and partners to conserve local ecosystems and promote sustainable watershed management for future generations.
Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association (BBEMA)
The Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association (BBEMA) is a community-based, non-profit watershed organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the environmental health of the Bedeque Bay watershed in Prince Edward Island. Through habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, environmental education, species conservation, and community stewardship initiatives, BBEMA works with landowners, volunteers, schools, and partner organizations to promote healthy ecosystems and sustainable watershed management.
Winter River–Tracadie Bay Watershed Association (WRTG)
Winter River–Tracadie Bay Watershed Association (WRTG)
The Winter River–Tracadie Bay Watershed Association (WRTG) is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health of the Winter River and Tracadie Bay watersheds in Prince Edward Island. Through habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, environmental education, stewardship initiatives, and community partnerships, WRTG works to conserve healthy waterways, restore aquatic habitats, and inspire environmental stewardship throughout the region.
Wheatley River Improvement Group (WRIG)
The Wheatley River Improvement Group (WRIG) is a community-based, non-profit watershed organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health of the Wheatley River watershed in Prince Edward Island. Through habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, environmental education, stream enhancement, and community stewardship initiatives, WRIG works with landowners, volunteers, schools, and partner organizations to conserve local ecosystems and promote sustainable watershed management.
The South Shore Watershed Association (SSWA)
The South Shore Watershed Association (SSWA) is a registered charitable organization established in 2011 to protect and maintain five adjacent watersheds in the south-central region of Prince Edward Island. Through habitat restoration, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and conservation initiatives, SSWA works year-round to protect and enhance the health of local watersheds and ecosystems.
