Building strong communities is at the heart of SEA’s mission. Through meaningful partnerships, educational opportunities, and community events, we work to inspire environmental stewardship while creating opportunities for people of all ages to connect with nature.
SEA has proudly partnered with programs such as the ResourceAbilities SEAM (Skills Enhancement and Mentorship) Program and Transitions East, providing participants with hands-on environmental experiences, skill development opportunities, and meaningful connections to their local communities. We also collaborate with schools throughout our watershed region, delivering environmental education programs, outdoor learning experiences, career exploration opportunities, classroom presentations, and volunteer initiatives that help foster the next generation of environmental stewards.
Community engagement extends well beyond the classroom. SEA regularly partners with municipalities, community organizations, and local groups to deliver public events, environmental initiatives, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We proudly host our annual Winter Frolic, a family-friendly celebration featuring our lighted nature trail, guided outdoor activities, nature exhibits, children’s crafts, birdhouse building, maple syrup taffy on snow, and other seasonal experiences that encourage residents to enjoy the outdoors during the winter months.
SEA also participates in community celebrations such as Montague Arts & Culture Fest, Earth Day events, community fairs, and many other local initiatives, helping connect people with the natural environment while fostering a stronger sense of community, stewardship, and environmental awareness across southeastern Prince Edward Island.
